The Skimmia generates intense interest every season!
Throughout the year the plant shows different sides of its character. Towards the end of August the first buds appear and in early spring you are rewarded with flowers exuding an enchanting scent. In the meantime, the leather-like leaves remain beautifully green all year round. Plant the shrub in the garden in September and enjoy all four seasons with Skimmia. During the summer months, the Skimmia’s green leaves will provide the quiet backdrop to the rest of the garden, ensuring that the colourful summer bloomers have a soothing baseline. The Skimmia really powers-up from the end of August and in September the plant is full of buds or berries. When the summer plants have stopped flag-waving, the Skimmia occupies centre stage with its colourful buds. And from March the Skimmia is the prima donna, with a multitude of small flowers spreading their fresh sweet spring fragrance.
