The Canna is a subtropical plant which was a welcome addition to many British gardens in the Victorian era. In the tropics the Canna flowers throughout the year and is available in a wide selection of colours, sizes and forms, from small plants below half a meter to giants of two to three meters. The smaller varieties do well in pots or as border plants. Cannas make their biggest visual splash when arranged as a group, often growing even higher than the three meters. The superb flowers can be enjoyed from June to September.
