Kentiakwekerij G. Stolze
Kentia Kwekerij G. Stolze has been growing a very special product since 1980: Kentia. This palm is solely cultivated on a small island near Australia, Lord Howe. That is how the plant received its name, Howea Forsteriana. In the wild on that island, Kentia grows into large ‘trees’, and the local inhabitants pluck their seeds. The seeds are germinated and grown into small plants that are then shipped to the Netherlands. Before the Kentias are large enough to be sold, they are often several years old and have been repotted several times. When grading them, which is done by hand, Gerrit pays attention to the plants being sufficiently bushy and the leaves properly distributed. Every day Gerrit delivers his loveliest plants with the compliments of Decorum.
